AllGear Digital today announces the addition of iRunFar to its portfolio. The enthusiast publication, founded in 2007, is a top site for content about the world of trail running and ultrarunning.
Founding Editor Bryon Powell built iRunFar as an authentic source to serve the trail and ultra communities. The publication, based in Utah, is known for its live race coverage, athlete profiles, gear reviews, and newsy content about the ultrarunning world.
A dedicated runner and competitive athlete himself, Powell created iRunFar as a passion project. It has grown into a popular publication and a community with hundreds of thousands of fans.
iRunFar joins a group of sister sites including GearJunkie, Switchback Travel, AutoWise, GearHungry, Bikerumor, Explorersweb, and more.
“It’s been amazing to see the iRunFar community grow over the past decade,” said Powell, who remains at the helm as Editor-in-Chief of the publication. “AllGear Digital will give us wider reach and the resources to both improve quality for our existing audience as well as reach new readers.”
Managing Editor Meghan Hicks and a collection of longtime iRunFar editors and contributors remain on board. The company plans to increase content and add new areas of coverage to iRunFar beginning immediately.
“I have known Bryon for more than a decade and have been impressed with his dedication to the world of ultrarunning,” said Stephen Regenold, the founder of GearJunkie and VP of Strategy. “Powell and Hicks are a powerhouse team and I can’t wait to see the iRunFar site continue to grow under the new banner this year.”
