GearJunkie’s Rachelle Schrute Wins Best Gear Story of 2023 at Outdoor Media Summit 

AllGear Digital is proud to announce that Rachelle Schrute, Hunt & Fish Editor for its flagship active outdoor lifestyle publication GearJunkie, has been awarded the prestigious 2023 Best Gear Story award at Outdoor Media Summit 2024 (OMS 2024) annual conference for her article Death, Lies, and Destruction: The Awful Irony of Balloons. The story, which highlights the environmental impact of balloons, was celebrated for its exceptional reporting and powerful storytelling.

Schrute joined GearJunkie as Hunt & Fish Editor in 2022 after several years of freelancing with the publication. With 15 years of expertise in hunting, fishing, conservation, and outdoor gear, she possesses one of the most respected voices in outdoor media. A native of Montana, she studied Biological & Biomedical Science at the University of Montana Western and is an active member of several organizations.

Schrute accepted the award in person during Outdoor Media Summit (OMS) annual conference, held from October 14-16, 2024, in Missoula, Montana.
