AllGear Digital, whose leading portfolio of outdoor active lifestyle brands included GearJunkie, The Inertia, Switchback Travel, iRunFar and BikeRumor, is seeking a seasoned video editor to help lead post-production as a key member of our in-house content studio. The breakdown of tasks is expected to be 75% editing and 25% production. This position is full-time, contract-to-hire, and works hybrid from our Los Angeles, California office. Highly qualified and experienced remote candidates in the western United States will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft compelling narratives from raw footage 
  • Edit original series (short-form & long-form), branded content, trailers, teasers, and social media videos for AllGear Digital publications 
  • Manage post-production workflow for AllGear Studios projects  
  • Collaborate with AllGear Studios team to plan, execute, and deliver video projects
  • Work with team to develop shotlists and paper edits 
  • Knowledge of technical specifications and ability to optimize video content for intended release platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Tik-Tok, and Facebook
  • Manage archive of footage, photos, and audio 
  • Work with a roster of freelance talent based on the job

Necessary Skills:

  • Video editing

  • Graphics / animation
  • Media management + DIT
  • Post-Production Scheduling

Bonus Skills:

  • DaVinci Resolve 
  • Camera Proficiency 
  • Knowledge of Lighting + Audio

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of video editing experience, preferably at a media network or production house
  • Strong portfolio & reel showcasing a variety of work samples and projects, including several featuring outdoors activities like surf, ski, skate, off-roading, etc.
  • Proficiency / Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite – Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop
  • Strong client communication and internal collaboration skills 
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Knowledgeable about relevant equipment – cameras, audio, etc. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects
  • Excellent eye for detail and a keen sense of aesthetics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Communications or related field (preferred)
