Media Planner (Part-time, Contract)
AllGear Digital, whose leading portfolio of outdoor active lifestyle brands included GearJunkie, The Inertia, Switchback Travel, iRunFar and BikeRumor, is seeking a detail-oriented Media Planner to support our Sales team in developing media plans for direct-sold (not programmatic) digital advertising campaigns. This is a part-time, contract role that can be performed remotely. The expected time commitment is 10-15hrs per week, depending on opportunity volume. Pay will match skills and experience and is expected to be in the $26-$30 per hour range.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with the Sales team to develop custom direct-sold digital media plans that align with client objectives and budget.
- Select and recommend appropriate ad formats, placements, and audience targeting strategies across our digital properties.
- Transcribe digital media plans into agency templates.
- Utilize historical data and industry benchmarks to forecast campaign performance and optimize media allocations.
- Prepare client-facing materials that clearly communicate the value and expected impact of the proposed media plans.
- Work closely with the Ad Operations for product recommendations and inventory requests.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, ad formats, and performance metrics to continually refine media planning strategies.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in digital media planning for a digital publisher or ad agency.
- Demonstrated experience creating media plans for direct-sold advertising and sponsored content campaigns.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience working with CPMs, CTRs, audience targeting, and campaign performance metrics.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets required; experience with Canva a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex media plans into clear client-facing documents.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.
