Business Development Executive

AllGear Digital seeks Business Development Executives to prospect new clients for its owned-and operated suite of active-lifestyle and outdoor-adventure media properties including GearJunkie.com, TheInertia.com, Bikerumor.com, iRunFar.com and more. The ideal candidate has a robust rolodex of agency and brand contacts that can help us grow our partnerships in near-endemic and other outdoor-adjacent areas (e.g. Alcoholic and general beverage, CPG, automotive, watches, fitness, consumer technology, travel and tourism and more). This is a part-time, contract opportunity offering a retainer and high commission potential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a list of at least 30-40 unique (e.g. not currently covered by AGD’s sales team) brand and agency partners to pursue
  • Set up, prepare for, and conduct AllGear Digital intro/overview meetings
  • Converse with clients to understand upcoming campaigns and gather proposal request details (campaign direction, KPIs, timing, budget, etc.)
  • Receive RFPs from media buying agencies and brand partners
  • Advise internal AllGear Digital sales team in the completion of proposals
  • Take completed proposals back to clients and work to close
  • Sell custom and traditional (not programmatic) digital advertising, including display media, content, video, podcast, giveaways, sponsorships, social media, e-news, live activations, etc., to new clients in target verticals
  • Travel to tradeshows, events, and more to network with key industry contacts
  • Properly track all account activity
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in publisher-side digital advertising sales
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect for new clients, securing meetings and RFPs
  • Robust rolodex of brand partner and agency connections in near-endemic and other outdoor-adjacent areas (e.g. Alcoholic and general beverage, CPG, automotive, watches, fitness, consumer technology, travel and tourism and more) that can be immediately contacted on behalf of AllGear Digital
  • A keen ability to see opportunities, understands needs, create solutions, set proper expectations and close deals
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Self-starter that is ambitious in nature, with an entrepreneurial approach
  • Passion for the outdoor lifestyle, industry and brands
